Below is our sales policy. We do our best to protect you, our rabbits, and ourselves. Our first priority is the wellbeing of our rabbits and have carefully crafted our policy to reflect this. Our reputation is important to us so we are fair, but firm. 

OUR SALES POLICY

Please read the policy thoroughly. Payment will be considered acceptance of these terms in its entirety regardless of whether or not you have read them.

 

Pricing/Buying

A 50% non-refundable deposit of the amount is required up front to hold. No purchase is final until paid in full. We accept deposits via PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, or cash.  All PayPal payments should be sent via Friends and Family or by the buyer paying the 3% processing fee charged by PayPal. All Venmo payments should be sent via “Payment between Friends” or by the buyer paying the 2% processing fee charged by Venmo. We will not pay transfer fees. All sales are made at our discretion.

 

Once payment is sent and received, your rabbit is on hold for you. Be sure of the rabbit you want before sending payment. Please be mindful, all deposits and payments will not be refundable under any circumstances. Deposits made on the following instances are not subject to a refund. This includes, but not limited to: bought the wrong bunny, allergies, not as described, no longer want them, cannot keep them, bored with rabbit, landlord/rental pet policy disagreements, accidentally purchased the rabbit, child grabbed a card and paid for rabbit, I'm located in another state and can not afford to pick up the rabbit, I wanted the rabbit but my boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse/roommate/landlord/housemate said no, accidentally finished paying off someone else's rabbit, paid for a reserved/sold rabbit, cannot secure transport arrangements, transport arrangement falls through, or paid for a rabbit from another state. Choosing to purchase one of our rabbits means you agree with the asking price. NO bartering!

 

We reserve the right to cancel any sale at any time for any reason. If cancellation is done on our part we will refund the full amount of payment. Price is subject to change at any time. The prices vary depending on the quality of said rabbit, so please ask for individual prices. We frequently adjust prices of offered Lionheads as they mature to reflect changing quality and/or costs of care beyond the original time of posting. This price may increase or decrease at any time. Just because a rabbit was posted at a certain price last week does not mean the rabbit will remain at that price at the time of your inquiry.

 

Animals sold as “proven” have been successfully bred, produced, and weaned offspring with the sale price reflecting this confirmation. Animals not sold as proven have not produced offspring. There is no way to predict that an animal will procreate so if the ultimate goal is breeding we recommend purchasing a proven rabbit. We do not offer any type of reimbursement or replacement for an animal that has not reproduced.

 

We do our best to check the sexes. We do check several times and try to be as accurate as possible. Please make sure you check yourself before leaving. MISTAKES CAN BE MADE! Refunds will not be given due to incorrect sex.

 

There is no guarantee of a rabbit's ability to be shown, bred, or kept as a pet. We also cannot guarantee the temperament of a rabbit. As they mature, their personalities may change.

 

Your rabbit will come with a small bag of transition feed. 

We do not keep a “waiting list” and being the first to inquire about an available rabbit in no way constitutes any claim or right to purchase said rabbit.

 

Reselling/Rehoming

We maintain First Right of Refusal on ALL PEDIGREED RABBITS that leave our rabbitry. This means that before a Pampered Lionhead rabbit is resold it, must be offered to us first with the option to buy it back at the original price. Pampered Lionhead rabbits are never to be surrendered to any animal shelter or humane society and must be returned to us unless other suitable arrangements are agreed upon. No refunds will be given but we will assure proper steps are taken to adequately care for the animal.

Pick-up/Transport

 

You can choose to 1) Pick up in Athens, GA, 2) Meet at a mutually convenient location, or 3) Use transports.

 

1) Pick up in Athens, GA. When meeting for pickup, we will wait 15 minutes AFTER the scheduled meeting time for you. If you do not show up within that time frame, we will wait 24 hours to hear from you (we understand things come up). After 24 hours, if no contact has been made by you, you will forfeit all money paid toward the rabbit and the rabbit will be reposted for sale. All changes to the meeting time need to be made 24 hours in advance. 

 

We will ONLY meet in public places to ensure the safety of both you and us! Please bring a rabbit-safe cage or box for it to travel home with you.

 

2) Meeting at a non-local, mutually convenient location. A small delivery fee will be added if the established meeting location is further than 1 hour from the rabbitry (Maximum distance of 2 hours). The buyer must put down at least a 50% deposit before we travel to the agreed upon location. The delivery fee must be paid in full to us before delivery.

 

When meeting for pickup, we will wait 15 minutes AFTER the scheduled meeting time for you. 3) Using transport. We understand it may be too far for you to travel and so we suggest using transport. Transport is to be obtained by the buyer at the buyer’s expense. We do our best to coordinate with transporters. We reserve the right to refuse the transfer of animals in cases where we feel adequate care and/or basic needs may not be met. If ever a situation were to arise that resulted in refusing transport, the buyer will be notified immediately and attempts will be made to arrange other transport. IF something does happen to your rabbit during transport, i.e. sickness, infection, or death, a refund will not be given by us. Payment of the rabbit must be paid IN FULL to us before it leaves with a transport.

Pick up arrangements for sale animals are to be agreed on before purchase. We suggest obtaining transport arrangements first before purchasing. In most cases, we will hold for a reasonable time for transport situations or delivery to shows we are attending. In instances that require a length of time exceeding two weeks, there will be a holding fee added to the purchase price to cover feed, care, and board. This is not a set fee but will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

 

Naming

Do not change the names of the rabbits. In some cases, buyers will be able to choose the name they would like on the pedigree if the rabbit has not already been named. This name will be agreed upon by both buyer and seller upon purchase. In the event a rabbit is already named, the pedigreed name is permanent and not to be altered at any time, for any reason. When posting pictures of Pampered Lionhead rabbits on social media, the name is not to be changed or altered in any way. The full name, including and not withholding, “Pampered Lionhead” must be used. Any changes to the original pedigree are prohibited. Changes made without the consent of Pampered Lionhead will be considered falsification of a pedigree. Any violation of this policy will result in the buyer being banned from future purchases.

Quality

Three categories used to describe the quality of sale animals are “show,” “brood,” and “pet”.

 

“Show” quality animals meet the breed standard, are free of disqualifications, and are expected to be competitive on the tables. While we do our best to evaluate potential show animals, we can not guarantee successful placing (no breeder can), and will not be held liable for any DQs that appear after the rabbit leaves our possession. It is 100% the buyer’s duty to inspect the animals before purchase and decline purchase if the animal is found unsatisfactory. Once the purchase is made we are not obligated to reimburse for any faults that occur.

 

“Brood” quality animals may have some characteristics that prevent them from showing competitively but can oftentimes offer qualities that could be beneficial in breeding programs. These animals will typically be offered with a full pedigree to experienced breeders or beginners looking for good stock to build their herd.

 

“Pet” quality animals will lack certain characteristics that prevent the animal from aligning closely to the breed standard. These animals offer no benefit to a serious breeding program. While we do not breed with the intention of creating “pet” quality animals, mother nature and genetics have a mind of their own so these do show up in litters. We occasionally offer these animals as pets without pedigrees.

Health

Due to the fragile nature of rabbits, we do not issue a guarantee on sale animals. All efforts are made to provide a sanitary and healthy environment and we strive to offer only animals that exhibit complete health. Once a rabbit leaves our care we cannot be held responsible for any illnesses or injuries that occur. It is the buyer’s responsibility to inspect the animal prior to purchase. We understand that this may not be possible in certain situations such as out-of-state online sales and so we do our best to be completely honest with buyers by only selling animals in excellent health. If payment was received for an animal being held and said animal becomes ill or deceased in my care we will either A) issue a refund or B) replace the animal with another of equal value agreeable to the buyer.

 

Under no circumstances will we be responsible for any medical costs the rabbit may obtain after the sale. Under no circumstances are we responsible for any damage the rabbit may cause to personal property or any personal injury, such as biting or scratching. We will not sell rabbits with unfriendly or aggressive personalities, but a change in personality while no longer in our care will not lead to replacement. Oftentimes, such behavior changes are brought about by improper handling of the rabbit.
